When we read some of the Proverbs, they can be hard to understand. For example, what do you think Proverbs 27:22 means: “Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.”?
In an engaging sermon on this difficult Proverb, Pastor Hans Overduin, an emeritus FRC minister, brings us our Sermon of the Month titled “A Shocking Proverb with a Gospel Intent.” Pastor Overduin applies this Proverb to our day today, and points to the beautiful Gospel that is hidden within it. He walks us through the Proverb’s alarming note, its hopeful note, and its stimulating note. Listen, and be pointed to the wonderful Saviour who presents Himself even in this shocking Proverb!
