Sermon of the Month: May 2025

Many of us can struggle with the doctrines of election and the difficulty in comparing God’s sovereignty to man’s responsibility. These can be hang-ups which hinder our turning to God in faith and embracing His full and free Gospel. However, we know that the Bible’s message is clear, we are graciously called by God as He says, “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” (Isaiah 55:1).

This month’s Sermon of the Month is from Pastor Brian Najapfour of Jordan HRC. In his sermon “The Free Offer of the Gospel”, he expounds on this wonderful verse from Isaiah 55 in light of our struggles with hyper-Calvinism and the difficulties in understanding election. He does this by showing that the Gospel is universal, unique, and urgent. May this free offer bring us to confess, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16a).
