Sermon of the Month: June 2026

Have you ever been sitting in church listening to the Pastor’s sermon and been bored? Too often, we get distracted, lose focus, or get tired of God’s Word preached to us every Sunday. Zechariah, the Old Testament prophet, knew this response all too well. In Zechariah 1:4, it says, “Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the LORD.”

Preaching on this passage, Pastor David Vanbrugge (Burgesville HRC) brings us June’s Sermon of the Month. The title of the sermon is “How to be Blessed by Preaching,” and it takes us through (1) understanding its real context, (2) embracing its authoritative message, and (3) appropriating its eternal significance. The next Sunday we are blessed to hear a sermon preached, let us have thankful and attentive hearts to God’s gracious Word!
