In the Bible, every time that Jesus and the apostles heal a man or woman, we should see ourselves in the one who was in need of healing. Even in our youth, we are all in need of Jesus’ great healing power and salvation. The lame man at the temple gate in Acts 3 was one of these needy men, to which Peter instructed, “what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). It is in this same name, Jesus Christ, that we too must be healed and saved.
Preaching on this passage, Pastor John Procee (Chilliwack HRC) brings us April’s Sermon of the Month. This sermon is titled “A Miracle in the Temple,” and has three main points: the misery preceding the miracle, the man effecting the miracle, and the marvel following the miracle. May each of us be saved to walk in the newness of life, praising God for His amazing restoration and redemption!
