Sermon of the Month: January 2026

In the New Year, many people create new year’s resolutions to begin in January. Often, these resolutions are to counter the infirmities and weaknesses that people have had in the previous year. In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul writes about his weakness as a “thorn in the flesh” when he says in verses 9b and 10b, “Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me…For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

In a New Year’s Day sermon, Pastor Isaac Epp (Picture Butte FRC) teaches us what Paul means by making the resolution to glory in his weakness. This sermon is titled “Resolved: To Glory in My Weakness,” and it takes us through (1) our weaknesses, (2) Christ’s comfort, and (3) our new resolution. May the Lord’s blessing allow each of us to say in the New Year, “When I am weak, then I am strong.”
