Sermon of the Month - December 2025

In the Christmas season, the story is often told from Matthew 2 of how the magi travelled to see the newly born King of the Jews. As they travelled, they met the deceptive King Herod, whose response to Jesus’ birth was the opposite of the magi’s response. In this chapter, we should ask ourselves, “How do we respond to the birth of Jesus, the King of the Jews?”

Pastor Ben Van Liere (Langley FRC) brings us our Sermon of the Month, preached on

last year’s Christmas Day. In this sermon, he confronts us with the question of what kind of

worship we respond to the Christmas message with. Are we self-worshippers, like Herod,

religion worshippers, like the Jews, or true worshippers, like the Magi?
