Seek First the Kingdom of God

Seek First the Kingdom of God

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Read Matthew 6:19-34

The most important issues in life must be kept on the front burner when making choices. The kingdom of God must have the supreme place in our lives and should always be our primary consideration. Our relationship to God’s kingdom determines our position in life. The Lord Jesus taught that our daily needs ought not to be our first concern in life. A life without God is measured by the temporal issues we face.

The disciples, on the other hand, were kept and upheld by their Father in heaven. Their lives were anchored in the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and this was to be seen in their daily life. The kingdom of heaven and its King defined their lives.

How do you view life? Have you already learned to be a follower of the Lord Jesus and to see your life in light of His kingdom? When this is true, then the music regarded as great by the ungodly suddenly becomes unattractive.

This will also become apparent by what you write on your blog. Will others reading it come to the conclusion that you are a Christian? Do your friends also see that you are a Christian when you go out with them? Seek to walk in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus each day again!

Psalter 72: 1,3 (based on Psalm 27) Lord, hear me when I pray, And answer me in grace; Oft as I hear Thee say, Come ye and seek My face, My heart and lips their answer speak, Thy face, Jehovah, will I seek. Teach me, O Lord, Thy way, Make plain to me my path; Because of foes, I pray, Protect me from their wrath; To false accusers, cruel foes, O Lord, do not my soul expose.
