Enjoying Creation

“The heavens declare the glory of God…” —Psalm 19:1

Read Psalm 19

We are able to know the Lord through two books, the book of nature and the book of Holy Scripture. It is clear that only God’s Word can make us wise unto salvation. And yet, in nature, we see God’s greatness and majesty as well. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Nature sings without words of God’s power and His faithfulness. We can enjoy God’s creation, which He brought into existence simply by the miracle of declaring His will. This act of creation ought to make us feel very small and insignificant.

But it is very important that we read the Bible, for in it God calls us from our native darkness into His wondrous light. To that end, we must pray that the Lord opens our eyes so that we might see and understand what He tells us in His Word.

What can we learn from nature?
