Worshipping With The Church
“Let us go into the house of the LORD…” —Psalm 122:1
Read Psalm 122
Historically, Jerusalem was a beautiful city. It still is. Every year, Jewish pilgrims went to Jerusalem to celebrate their feasts, and as they entered the Holy City, they sang some of the Psalms to the glory of God. In the words of Psalm 122, we are invited to go with them to Jerusalem. Old and young are invited to go to the house of the Lord to praise and give thanks to His name.
Do we go to the house of God, to our churches, in the same way? What a great privilege it is to attend a place of worship in freedom! It is there that we can listen to what the Lord God has to say to us. In our prayers, we can bring our needs, as well as those of others, before God’s mercy seat. We may pray for peace for the world in which we live, but also for the peace of Jerusalem.
What aspect of attending church do you like best?
