Temptations

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?” —Psalm 119:9

Read Psalm 119:1-16

Everyone is exposed to many temptations and sins in daily life. But Satan aims his deadly arrows especially at youth. We all feel the terrible pressure of the wicked one and must seek to fight against him. But how shall we withstand the power of the evil one? We are so weak; we often stumble and are prone to fall any moment. How then can we stay standing? The Bible says that we can keep our paths pure if we keep them in the light of God’s Word.

This means that we must use God’s Word as the standard to measure our lives. We can never start doing this too early. We have the freedom to read this Word, and to study it. It is our highest duty to live our lives according to God’s Word. The devil whispers that we have enough time to repent. But the Lord says, “Today, if you will hear My voice, harden not your heart.” Will you do just that? Even Satan must acknowledge the authority of this Word.

How can we serve the Lord in singleness of heart?
