What Are You Learning?

“Ye have need that one teach you again…” —Hebrews 5:12

Read Hebrews 5:9-14

Do you still remember some of the stories that your teacher told you in grade school and how impressed you were by them? Perhaps this was also true the first time you heard the story of Christ’s crucifixion, when the Lord Jesus was nailed on the cross. Maybe you thought, “How could the Lord sacrifice His life for us?”

He is the great High Priest we read of in the Bible. This great High Priest was tempted just as we are, but remained without sin. Because of His pureness, we may go with boldness to the throne of His grace for deliverance. He will not send us away.

Do you perhaps remember a certain meditation that really spoke to you? Or maybe a sermon that affected you more than others, when you felt that the minister was preaching only for you. God’s Word came with power! But what did you do with those strong feelings? Did you bring them to the Lord? Did you thank Him for them? Or did you consciously bury those thoughts, just like other times when you thought about matters of life and death?

Maybe you’ve had a time when you were afraid of dying. Did you pray to God, or did you try to push away the fear and the serious thoughts?

What is your answer to the questions that you just read?
