“That He, by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” —Hebrews 2:9

Read Hebrews 2:9-18

Yesterday we read that God spoke through His Son in the last days. Because of this truth, we are invited to go to Him, and He will not send us away. This is only possible because He has paid the ransom price for His people. He was made a little lower than the angels, but now He is crowned with glory and honour. As a result, many will be led to glory. Or to say it more strongly, anyone may be led into this glory. Listen to what the Saviour said as He wept over Jerusalem: “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, how often would I have gathered thy children, but ye would not.” The Lord Jesus wanted to meet His people, but they refused. He wept because of their unbelief, which prevented them from coming to Him. They had hardened themselves.

How inexpressibly gracious the Lord Jesus Christ is! He is not even ashamed to call His children “brethren.” Are you a true brother or sister of the Lord Jesus? Or have you no desire to be associated with Him? Do not harden yourself, but seek to be led by Him. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be in His presence in the future? Imagine Him presenting you to His Father, saying, “See, I and the children that Thou hast given Me.” How amazing this shall be!

How can you become a brother or sister to Christ?
