The Highest Goal
“The power of His resurrection…” —Philippians 3:10
Read Philippians 3:1-16
In his short letter to the church of Philippi, Paul addressed several matters. As he wrote about important Christian doctrines of faith, he did so from personal experience. Did you read how he counted his piety and legalistic life as a Pharisee nothing more than dung, needing to be discarded? He gained this attitude when Christ’s will became his highest good (Phil. 3:7). Nothing was more precious to Paul than the knowledge of Jesus Christ his Lord (Phil. 3:8). I too must remove all the impurities out of my life that room may be made for Christ, and that I will never be separated from Him again. Verse 10 (Phil 3:10) is really the key text in this regard. When our old nature is crucified with Christ, then the new man will be raised up with Him unto a new life.
If a person knows the Saviour, they will also have knowledge of a new life given by the resurrected Lord. You will forget what re-mains behind you and strain with vigour to run for the prize set before you.
What was Paul’s greatest discovery?
