The Last Days
“God … spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets.” —Hebrews 1:1
Read Hebrews 1
Verse one tells us that we live in the last days: “God, Who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets.” Yet a little while, and these last days shall be followed by eternity. Yet a little while, and the earth will be dissolved. Yet a little while, and the Lord shall appear as the Judge of the universe. Who knows how soon this will be? God calls us: “Turn unto Me for I am God and none else.” He invites us to come to Him, saying, “Repent, for why will you die?”
The Lord speaks to us through His Son Jesus Christ, who came into the world to suffer and die. He gave His life for sinners. How wonderful are the names given to Christ! Jesus is the Saviour and “the anointed One.” He is the Light of the world, the Door for His sheep, and the Good Shepherd who gave His life for the sheep. If the Lord Jesus is glorious now, how infinitely glorious shall everything be in the future to those who will live with Him forever!
How wonderful it is if we are able to meet God because we have been washed in Christ’s blood. We live in the last days before His coming. He still speaks to us through His Word and Spirit, calling us.
When the Lord comes to judge the earth, will you be ready to meet Him?
